Hey there inner demons it’s me your therapist

Erin Roach (she/they)

I hold a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies.

I identify as a queer person and specialize in working with members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. I am also familiar with polyamorous and kinky communities.

I am supervised by Yena Bi (https://www.ybcounselling.com/).

Therapeutic modalities

I specialize in working through attachment and embodiment-focused therapies, which means that I want to attune to your experiences and help you better understand what you’re feeling and why. I have a certificate in Somatic Attachment Therapy, which explores using your body sensations to track and regulate your emotions, as well as understanding where our reactions come from.

I also have training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, from which I pull pieces as appropriate, but my general approach to therapy is more around understanding the roots of present experiences and less around symptom management.
